Overview:
While at St. James’ Gate, I realized we were just down the street from Marvin Gardens, who according to their site is a Pub and Grill. We walked (sorry dad, I thought it was only a block) down to Marvin and sat ourselves at the bar.
Chris’ Opinion:
Though there are good beers here (Drakes 1500, so good!), “pub” is definitely a stretch. As I told my dad when describing the place, it seemed more like a restaurant than a pub. The bar was nice, but for some reason I got the feel of a diner with beer taps instead of soda fountains and milkshake machines. The place was friendly, clean, and well stocked with food and beer, but I would not recommend it to someone looking for a pub.

Karl’s Opinion:
Mostly for the food…but a good selection of beer on tap doesn’t hurt. Menu features an interesting selection of pizzas and sandwiches.
Could be a good place to go for a pizza without having to deal with Pop Warner football teams or sweaty adult league softball players.
Since we had just eaten elsewhere, I don’t think we can do Marvin Gardens full justice with this review. Maybe next time, here for the food and St. James Gate for an after dinner pint. But not my idea of a pub.
